It’s Only Life After All

I am in a Netflix documentary.

Honestly, there isn’t another film that would be in better sync with my personality. I signed the rights of this snippet over to them in ‘22, never even thinking Alexandria Bombach (director) et al would use it.

I have had It’s Only Life After All on my watchlist since it was released. I told myself it would hurt too much to watch (I’ve had to miss their shows over the past few years.) But on Christmas Day I came down with shingles and shingles hurt! so I thought more hurt would be tolerable.

The truth is, watching this DID NOT HURT.

Watching It’s Only Life After All really helped.

Those of you who know me well, here, know how impressionable the Indigo Girls are and have been to me (especially since the first time I saw them live in Telluride back in 1991). But, I feel like there is SO MUCH MORE to say and I just don’t know how to say it!

Amy + Emily are right here, for you, in all there human-ness. Even if you don’t quite connect with their music but need a dose of humanity, I hope you’ll watch! This documentary is so well done. There are so many quotes I could reference, too, but I’ll let you discover them for yourself. I will close, though, with how this film closed (brilliant, editors, just brilliant) - “You seem like a kind person.  I think that kindness impacts lives in ways that we don’t ever know.”

Love you forever Amy + Emily☮️
