do it. create. walk and see. cut and paste. scratch and sniff.

November WEEKDAY WORKSHOPS

On DAY 1, we studied Paul Klee as well as the art of repetition (repeating patterns in art).  Because the MIA is closed on Mondays, we had time to paint a still life and hold Tucker.

On DAY 2, we painted our own decorative bowls.  We chose a painting we liked and created our own version by focussing on composition.  The older children created their own color palettes by mixing colors.  When we went to the MIA, we spent a lot of time at the International Modernism exhibit.

On DAY 3, we painted turkeys on small ceramic tiles.  We discussed the difference between deciduous and conifer trees before creating our own mixed media snowy landscapes.  We took an Ezra Keats approach to creating snow (painting pink paper white).

On the way to and from the MIA, the children asked to play on the MCAD campus.

At the MIA, they always stop to look up in the atrium.

Thank you, Parents, for enrolling your children in the November Weekday Workshops.
I hope you all had exceptional holidays!
