We started our third visual journaling class yesterday by interpreting these three prompts:
1. My favorite vacation
2. If I had three wishes...
3. If I had special powers...
Our specific art lesson consisted of mark making. The children experimented with making different marks in their journals and on paper. Once they were finished, they used watercolors to embellish their work.
Some of the children experimented with print making again too!
We made so much art yesterday, I almost forgot to mention a new favorite book. Although we read several while eating popsicles, Knight Night by Owen Davey was, by far, the favorite.
We have one more visual journaling class NEXT Sunday (yes, over the holiday weekend) and then we begin a new series titled, How to Be An Explorer of the World. These classes are available on an individual basis. Please remember to mark your calendars for Sunday, June 8 (1 - 2:30 pm) for our Children's Art Exhibit and open house. Let me know if your child is interested in exhibiting their work from class and I will make arrangements to get it from you.
